ChaCha and Civil Liberties

to be or not to be...

i'd be honest, i am for amending the 1987 constitution. because even to my limited understanding, it is quite clear that the present 'system' just have too many 'imperfections' even without really looking...

some of my friends says "ok, let's say you're right. but that depends on who makes the changes and what changes will they make"... i often replied "kung hindi sila sino, kung hindi ngayon kelan"... to my mind, this step has long been overdued and there always seems to be excuses... and no president seems to be the right one and no time seems to be the right time... impatience. that's it. i think i'm not the lone filipino to feel that. and that's good. because as long as we have impatience, it means we still have hope, little and diminishing they may be.

but when i stumbled upon this on the PCIJ site, i felt a chill going down my spine. i realized, things like the constitution, the ultimate legal soul of the land, cannot and should not be rushed, especiallly in the hands of people whose politics are increasingly ominous.

hear it for yourself. post your comment.
